Seiyuu

My favorite seiyuu is....

Junichi Suwabe!

Some of the anime he has been it include:
Keigo Atobe in "The Prince of Tennis" (Ore-sama no bigi ni yoi na! Talented, wealthy, powerful - he is the king)
Friagne in "Shakugan no Shana" (the first villain in the series. He's a calm person that knows he is in control)
Akatsuki Kain in "Vampire Knight" (the silent, but perceptive one that can conjure fire)
Cain Nightroad in "Trinity Blood" (one of the main antagonists that is very charismatic and powerful)
Greed in "Fullmetal Alchemist" (another character that knows he's that good)
Savaris Luckens in "Chrome Shelled Regios" (one of the 12 wielders of the Heaven Blades)

His characters all seem to be very powerful and important. That's probably why I like all of them so much. I hope that he continues voicing all of my favorite characters.

My Favorite Manga

Descendants of Darkness:

The one that started it all :) I saw the cover to Volume 1 during high school when one of my friends was reading it. The artwork is beautiful and the storyline is full of suspense and action. I also enjoy the supernatual aspects of the series and discovering the past histories of the characters.

Seiichiro Tatsumi, who is working as Chief Konoe's secretary, is my favorite character. He is constantly worried about money and efficiency and scares most of the employees of the Ministry of Hades when they're slacking off. He seems very cold-hearted, but he is really caring and will do anything to protect his friends. He has the powers of a Shinigami as well as having the power to manipulate shadows.

I also enjoy reading about Asato Tsuzuki, who the main protagonist of the series. Although he provides much of the comic relief to the story, he is a skilled and powerful agent with 12 Shikigami that work under him. He always does things for the good of others and conceals a very troubled past.

On the other side, Kazutaka Muraki has to be one of the most twisted villains I have stumbled across while reading manga or watching anime. He's obsessive, perverted, and manipulative, covering up his evil nature by pretending to be a doctor. Yes, I really enjoy keeping up with this character because there is such depth to his character.

Godchild: Something tells me I saw this as an advertisement in the back either a La Corda D'Oro or a Vampire Knight book. The artwork is decent - it definitely isn't my favorite, but the dark storyline and the unique characters make up for it.

Riffael Raffit.

Yurara:

Rasetsu no Hana:

Absolute Boyfriend:

Chrono Crusade:

I also read Fullmetal Alchemist, La Corda D'Oro, and Vampire Knight. My thoughts on those are in the previous anime post.

My Favorite Anime

Fullmetal Alchemist:

The first anime I ever watched and it was AMAZING!
A friend of mine from high school introduced me to it and I immediately was hooked. The storyline is fantastic and the characters have so much depth. There are plot twists all over the place and each episode keeps you questioning about what is going to happen next.

If you have been to my other blog, you would know that my favorite character is Roy Mustang. Also known as the Flame Alchemist, he is exceptionally strong and clever and wants to rise to the top to get rid of the corrupt government. He is backed up by his best friend Maes Hughes (who is my second favorite character) as well his troop of loyal soldiers that are there for him no matter how dangerous it gets.

Kyou Kara Maou:

I saw the cover to one of the DVDs while I was at FYE a few summers ago and the artwork caught my attention. I went onto YouTube and watched an episode to see if I would enjoy watching it and found that answer to be a yes. :)
I have watched all 78 episodes of the first season and the 5 OVAs and I am currently almost halfway through the 3rd season.

The character on the DVD that caught my attention was Conrad Weller, who ended up being my favorite character of the series. He is extremely loyal and strong and will sacrifice anything to protect the people that he cares about. And yes, he has amazing skills with a sword :)

La Corda D'Oro:

Music + Anime = Happiness!
This one I discovered as a manga first and I was excited to find that it was made into an anime series. The artwork is beautiful, especially in the the way the characters' eyes are drawn. Each of the male characters are very different from each other, making their interactions with each other interesting. It's also great hearing good pieces of music featured during the music competition.

If I was the main character and I had to choose my favorite guy, I would definitely choose Len Tsukimori. He's serious, hard-working, and immensely talented at the violin. He is a cold individual that starts off only caring about winning, but eventually recognizes the beauty that lies in playing the music. He is such a captivating individual.

Ryoutarou Tsuchiura is also one of my favorites. He is a general education student that ends up in the competition as a piano player. He is very supportive of his friends and plays on the soccer team.
And then there's the new character that shows up in Secondo Passo - Aoi Kaji. He has charm, passion, and it is a talented athlete and musician. He would definitely be my third favorite.

Prince of Tennis:

I seriously thought that the idea of an anime about tennis was sort of ridiculous. What was even more ridiculous was that there were 178 episodes of the regular season plus an OVA series that would eventually finish at 26 episodes. How do you make that much anime off of a sport? Since I just picked up tennis last summer, I figured I'd give it a try and now I'm hooked. Most of the tennis moves are impossible in real life, but are definitely fun to watch. I love how you get to see the interactions and connections between the characters from rival schools.

Ore-sama no bigi ni yoi na! Keigo Atobe is my hero. He's immensely rich and fairly arrogant, but everyone knows he has the talent and skills to back himself up. He is the captain of the Hyotei Gauken tennis team and will do anything to support and lead his team to victory.

Other characters I like include: Yushi Oshitari and Choutarou Ootori from Hyotei, Shusuke Fuji and Kunimitsu Tezuka from Seigaku, Kuranosuke Shiraishi and Kenya Oshitari from Shitenhouji, and Genichirou Sanada and Hiroshi Yagyuu from Rikkai Dai Fuzoku.

Vampire Knight:

Vampires are awesome. I saw an advertisement for the manga in the back of one of my La Corda D'Oro volumes and ended up picking up the series that way. The storyline is full of complications and mystery and what had happened in the past is shown to be affecting the present. Kaname Kuran, the president of the Night Class, is the only one that knows how everything is tying together and is the one that is responsible for setting up plans to defeat the one who killed his parents.

My favorite character is Takuma Ichijou - the Vice President of the Night Class. He has a warm, friendly personality and is very close to Kaname Kuran. He is noble, loyal, powerful, and fights with a sword - what more could you want? ^.^

Akatsuki Kain is another one of my favorite characters from the series. He didn't stand out to me initially, but as the show progressed, he staarted growing on me. He is a quiet individual that is extremely perceptive to the feelings of others around him. He can also conjure and control fire...like Roy Mustang :)

Junjou Romantica:

This one caught my attention because it was on the recently updated screen of AniKat and I thought the artwork was rather cool. The artwork wasn't as detailed as some of the other ones I have watched, but the style was unique and fit the feel of the story. And then I saw that a lot of my favorite seiyuu were in it so I just had to watch one episode to see if I would like it. The storylines are so touching!

Hiroki Kamijou is so fun to watch - he's usually angry on the outside, but he hides a shy, gentle personality inside. He is passionate about his work and usually spends most of his time in the office.

Special A:

My brother was actually the one that introduced me to this one. It took me a few episodes to get into, but I ended up liking it very much in the end. It's quirky and comical and the way the relationships come together is really fun to watch.

Kei Takeshima - the No. 1 of the S.A. club and the main character's rival. He acts like he's very full of himself because he knows he will win at everything and that it will annoy his rival. Underneath his smug exterior, he has feelings for her and is highly protective of her.

Trinity Blood:

Another DVD whose cover caught my attention at FYE. I figured I would do a little research on Wikipedia and saw that whole bunch of the english voice actors for Fullmetal Alchemist were in Trinity Blood. It has good artwork and aninteresting storyline dealing with vampires and humans.

Kain Nightroad is such a badass. A charismatic and powerful one. :)
Dietrich von Lohengrin is some kind of a twisted, evil human being, but I like him anyway.

More to come.
